ScD in Instrumentation


The Doctor of Science in Instrumentation at MIT was an interdepartmental degree that emphasized the dynamics, control, and systems of aerospace vehicles. It required graduate courses and examination committee members in five departments: Aeronautics and Astronautics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics. The name of the degree derived from the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory (now the C.S. Draper Laboratory).
The current name of the degree is Estimation & Control.
